Pinning Ceremony
THE ULTIMATE CELEBRATION FOR A FUTURE NURSE
A pinning ceremony is held towards the end of the last academic term as a way to symbolically welcome both new or soon-to-be graduates into the nursing profession. During this event, students are pinned by a current nurse who can be either faculty or a person of personal significance. Historically, a pin is the mark of an educated nurse. This tradition is accompanied by a recited lamp-light pledge to commemorate the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. This event is very special to the nursing community and one that many remember for their lifetime. All donations and purchases go towards making this event a reality. Any amount helps, Thank you!
